If you’ve logged into HubSpot lately, you’ve probably noticed something new: HubSpot Credits. They’re the platform’s way of turning certain tools and features into pay-as-you-go options, giving teams more flexibility in how they work.
Instead of fixed limits or surprise add-ons, credits let you control when and how those features come into play. It’s HubSpot’s push toward a system that matches real-world usage.
In this article, we’ll unpack what HubSpot Credits are, how they connect to Breeze, and how to manage them without overcomplicating your account.
HubSpot Credits are the new way the platform handles pay-as-you-go access for certain tools. Instead of paying one flat rate for everything, you use credits whenever an action or feature is triggered – like running a Breeze automation, syncing data, or using an AI Assistant.
Each HubSpot plan includes a monthly allotment of credits based on your subscription tier (we’ll cover what that is below). Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans each include different amounts, and you can always buy more if you run out. The idea is simple: you pay for what you use, and nothing more.
HubSpot introduced this model to give teams more control and flexibility. Instead of upgrading an entire plan just to unlock one feature, credits let you activate advanced tools as needed without committing to a higher tier.
If you’ve used Breeze Credits before, this part will sound familiar. When HubSpot introduced its updated credit system in 2025, those Breeze Credits didn’t disappear – they simply became HubSpot Credits. It’s the same concept, just folded into HubSpot’s larger, unified system.
Here’s what that transition looked like:
|
Previous Breeze Plan |
Converted to HubSpot Credits |
Monthly HubSpot Credits |
|
100 Breeze Credits |
3,000 HubSpot Credits |
3,000 |
|
1,000 Breeze Credits |
15,000 HubSpot Credits |
15,000 |
|
10,000 Breeze Credits |
125,000 HubSpot Credits |
125,000 |
What that means for you:
This integration keeps your credit tracking centralized and consistent across HubSpot.
Every HubSpot plan now comes with a set amount of credits each month. The number you get depends on your highest active subscription level – not the total number of Hubs you use. If you’re on both Marketing Hub Professional and Sales Hub Enterprise, for example, your account follows the Enterprise level

HubSpot Subscription Level |
Monthly HubSpot Credits |
|
Starter |
500 |
|
Professional |
3,000–5,000 |
|
Enterprise |
5,000–10,000 |
Unused credits expire at the end of each month and don’t roll into the next billing period. If your team uses more credits than expected, you can add more manually or adjust your settings for automatic upgrades.
Managing HubSpot Credits isn’t complicated once you know where to look. Everything you need is inside your Account & Billing settings, under Usage & Limits. From there, you can see how credits are being used, what’s left in your balance, and make quick adjustments when needed.
Here’s what you can do in that dashboard:
HubSpot also sends alerts when you reach key usage points – 75%, 85%, 90%, and 100%. Those early warnings help you stay ahead before any credit-related tools pause or billing changes take effect.
Checking in on your usage regularly can also reveal trends that help you fine-tune your settings and better predict future credit needs.
Not everyone in a HubSpot account has access to use credits – and that’s by design. Credits are tied to paid seats, which keeps control in the hands of users who actively manage HubSpot tools.
Users who can use HubSpot Credits:
These users can run credit-based actions, like workflows or AI tasks, that draw from the monthly pool.
Users who can’t use HubSpot Credits:
They can still see results or reports generated by others, but they can’t trigger any credit-consuming actions themselves.
This setup keeps credit usage predictable and tied to the people actually using HubSpot’s paid features.
When your team starts running low on credits, you’ve got options. HubSpot lets you buy more or change how you’re billed so you can stay on track without interruptions.
You can purchase extra HubSpot Credits directly from your Account & Billing settings or through your HubSpot rep. They’re available in increments of 1,000 credits, and you’ll see them added to your account right away.
Common prebuilt packs include:
HubSpot offers two ways to handle usage beyond your monthly limit:
You can switch between these settings at any time under Manage Credit Settings.
Credit reductions or cancellations take effect when your contract renews – another reason to keep an eye on monthly usage trends.
If your credit use changes from month to month, start small with add-ons. You can always increase your capacity once you know your average pace.
HubSpot Credits give teams flexibility to scale their usage without changing their entire plan. Instead of paying for features they might not use every month, businesses can apply credits to the tools that matter most. The setup keeps billing predictable while giving users freedom to experiment with new HubSpot features.
HubSpot Credits are ultimately about control – letting teams manage usage, budgets, and growth on their own terms.
